Swain County Schools has been made aware of a threatening social media post. Law enforcement officials are currently thoroughly investigating the situation. Swain County Schools is in communication with law enforcement. We will update this situation as information becomes available.

The following is an important message from Swain East Elementary. The cafeteria at East Elementary School will be closed as maintenance staff work on drainage issues. During this time, the staff will only be able to serve prepackaged breakfast and bag lunches. Please know that our staff are working hard to fix the problem and our hope is that it will not last long. We will do our best to keep you updated. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Swain County Schools will be dismissing at 11AM on Friday, December 16, 2022 as we begin the Christmas Break.

Swain County Schools has cellular hotspots available for checkout by both students and staff. The unlimited service is primarily through Verizon Wireless but there are a few with US Cellular service if that may work better at your location. These can be checked out for the remainder of the school year and will be distributed on a first come first serve basis. Please contact your school's technician for more information.

The Parents As Teachers (PAT) program is for expectant families and parents with children from birth to Kindergarten.

There will be no school for students on Monday, October 31, 2022 for a Teacher Workday.

There will be no school for students on Monday, September 19, 2022 for a Teacher Workday.
