Native American Parent Meeting

SCS held their first Native American Parent Meeting on October 28, 2019.  During the meeting, Parent Committee members were discussed, ways to improve parent attendance to our meetings, and team building exercises.  Parents and students also enjoyed some Halloween snacks and crafts. The next meeting will be scheduled before Christmas break. 

 

SCS held their second Native American Parent Meeting on December 19, 2019.  During this meeting, SCS' Native American Policy and Procedures were discussed by Dr. Brandon Sutton, along with our Native American student's involvement in different programs, athletics, as well as attendance and graduation rates.  Parents and students also had the opportunity to participate in a Christmas themed paper weaving craft of a Traditional Cherokee Basket design and also got to enjoy listening to Christmas songs sung in Cherokee, and enjoyed hot chocolate and cookies. The next meeting will probably be scheduled for February or March 2020.
